What should I put in my portfolio if I don’t have any projects yet?
We recommend starting with the list of bonus projects in your Course. Your regular homework assignments are also great show pieces for your portfolio and will show a project’s entire lifecycle from start to finish. (Include everything from that user persona, to your mock-up, to the actual code!).
You can also do some “mock” or pro-bono projects in which you design websites for markets that you are interested in breaking into. That way you can experiment with the tools and build up your portfolio at the same time.
Shorter assignments that allow you to show off your new skills are also great for a beginner portfolio. For an in-depth guide on what to put in your portfolio to make it stand out, check out Part I and Part 2 in our portfolio series!
